NATURE HERE AND THERE

Nature Here and There is an exhibition which explores the connection between urban living and mental wellness through the lens of houseplants. The exhibtion aims to invite visitors to consider how even small encounters with nature can go along way in urban environments.

Through the use of typography, illustration and interaction, the project encourages reflection on the mental health benefits of ecotherapy.

CATALOG

At the center of the exhibition is a handmade, printed catalog. The catalog is designed to introduce the concept of ecotherapy, as well as including basic care instructions, detailed spreads featuring a selection of houseplants, and finally a flow chart to help individuals pick one that's just right for them.

SCAVENGER HUNT

Visitors were invited to complete a scavenger hunt using a provided handout. Cutouts of houseplants are hidden throughout the space, each with a nametag and stamp. Once all stamps have been collected, participants may return for a prize: a monstera seed with planting instructions.

This video will go further in depth on the background of my topic, as well as explain a bit more about my design process and overall goal with this exhibiton.

PLANTS!

Below is a collection of photos that visitors of my exhibition have shared with me of their monstera plants that have grown from the seed they were awarded for completing the scavenger hunt.
